Subject: Announcing Renovation Services New AD & Move to P&C

Good Morning Team FM,

I am reaching out today to share some exciting changes coming to FM. Later this month, Renovation Services will move from Operations, Maintenance & Utilities (OM&U) to Planning & Construction (P&C). This strategic transition is a key element of our broader organizational plan to enhance alignment and efficiency. By consolidating all projects under one unit, we aim to enhance project delivery, communication, and customer service.

As part of this transition, we are pleased to announce that Steve Ramirez will join FM as the new Assistant Director for Renovation Services. As AD Renovation Services, Steve will provide oversight and planning for interior and exterior renovation projects, $1 million or less.

Steve has more than twenty years of experience in facilities planning and construction, most recently at the University of Texas at Austin where he currently serves as the Assistant Director of Campus Construction. He brings extensive experience leading teams of construction and facilities management professionals, working with customers, and managing complex budgets in a higher education environment. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from California State University, San Marcos, and a Master of Construction Management degree from the University of New Mexico, Albuquerque.

We extend our deepest gratitude to Anthony (Tony) Brown for his dedicated interim role as AD and his commitment to both Renovation Services and Facilities Maintenance. We look forward to Tony's return to his position as Renovation Services Manager.

Our Renovation Services project managers will continue to provide the same high-quality services as part of P&C. Their contact information, including email and phone, will remain the same.

OM&U services have been similarly aligned. Last fall, the trades team from Renovation Services relocated to Facilities Maintenance Programs (FMP) within OM&U. With a focus on providing short-term, small-scale, and tactical support for structural upgrades, as well as handling operations and maintenance related to architectural projects, their work is a strategic fit with FMP. This realignment ensures a cohesive and efficient approach to their specialized services.

Please join me in welcoming Steve Ramirez to FM and extending thanks to everyone involved in implementing this transformational move. We are confident that these changes will contribute to FM’s efficiency and overall success.

Sincerely,

Bob
