Domestic Water Testing Ensures Safe Water Use on Campus

UMD Facilities Management has continued to manage building systems in all academic and administrative buildings on campus throughout the COVID-19 outbreak. With the temporary shutdown or reduced operation of many campus buildings and reductions in normal water use, FM Plumbing Services has performed domestic water systems tests in all academic and administrative buildings to ensure water systems and features—sink faucets, drinking fountains, etc.—are safe to use.

As part of the campus water management program, to maintain water quality for use and consumption, Plumbing Services staff will continue to test and flush systems on a monthly basis during this time of limited campus activity until buildings are occupied.
