4Maryland Materials - COVID-19 Safety Signage

COVID-19 safety signage is being installed in all campus buildings currently in use. Facilities Planning is working with the Provost Office to develop circulation patterns for spaces/areas within academic and administrative buildings where social distancing could present challenges.

The University has developed a campus-wide communication campaign, 4Maryland, that promotes critical healthy behaviors.  The campaign includes safety and directional signage, and includes multiple posters, floor clings, digital screen graphics, and more. General materials are provided as English and Spanish bilingual versions.

As we prepare buildings for increased occupancy, we have developed a centralized, phased process to help ensure that all on-campus buildings and facilities have consistent,  appropriate signage.

Phase 1 - June - Academic, Research and Administrative Buildings

Facilities Management (FM) Signs and Graphics is printing and posting common area signs for buildings that are in use. Health and safety signage will be installed in common areas, including building entrances and lobbies, restrooms, existing hand sanitizing stations and elevators.

Departments may download, print and post the general poster in their work areas, or order additional materials, including floor decals to mark physical distance and queuing areas by submitting a work order

Auxiliary Buildings

Operations managers should order signage directly from FM Signs and Graphics by submitting a work order. Complete this Order Form and attach the file to your work order request. Operations managers are responsible for posting signage throughout their facilities.

Phase 2 - July/August

Additional Signage and Digital Materials

Phase 2 signage includes directional and circulation signs, seat markers for classrooms, lecture halls and other large seating areas, table tents, meeting and break area guidance, room occupancy limits and a variety of templates available for units with specific messaging or size requirements. Departments will have the option of printing 4Maryland meeting and break area guidance and room occupancy signs on a color printer.
