are intended to serve as a guide for renovation and new construction projects
at the University of Maryland College Park.

Space Planning Guidelines are state mandated campus guidelines. These guidelines are used as an evaluative and comparative tool in the State’s capital project approval and annual budget processes. The Space Planning Guidelines Application Program (SGAP) is used to generate space allowances.
Compiled by the Office of Capital Planning (USMO) and the Department of Facilities Planning for use in developing programmed office needs.

These guidelines supplement and elaborate upon the
FACILITIES MASTER PLAN 2001-2020. The Facilities Council authorized the
draft guidelines for review and preliminary use during calendar year 2004.
Comments and questions are being solicited by the Office of Campus Development,
Department of Facilities Planning for consideration and incorporation into
the final guideline documents (please refer to the link at the conclusion
of the web-page).
