BLS Organization Chart

Building And Landscape Services, under the direction of
Harry A. Teabout III, provides a full range of services including housekeeping, grounds maintenance, pest control, special events, moving services, FM fleet maintenance, and campus-wide solid waste and recycling program management.

Building and Landscape Services Units:

      

Landscape Services provides landscape maintenance and support, including: mowing and weed control, landscaping, irrigation; masonry; lawnmower and heavy equipment repair and pest control. They are responsible for maintaining 300 acres of landscape, 22 miles of sidewalk and 12 miles of roads. This unit also manages recycling, solid waste disposal, and pest control.

Housekeeping Services provides a variety of services for the health and comfort of campus customers. They clean and remove trash and recyclables from 126 buildings (approximately 7 million sq. ft., including more than 300 classrooms and 50 lecture halls), and disinfect approximately 4,000 restroom fixtures daily.

Special Services provides and coordinates event support for more than 100 campus events annually by providing and setting tents, stages, sound, pipe and drape, tables and chairs, and a wide variety of other items. They also provide moving services for the more than 300 office moves that take place on campus each year.

General Services' 31 employees provide pest control, moving services, and special events services for more than 100 annual events. The unit handles solid waste removal and recycling (1,953 tons/20% of the 9,596 ton waste stream last year) for the campus. The unit also maintains the FM vehicle fleet (250 vehicles). Services are provided to 126+ buildings and 60 research spaces.
