Frank Brewer is the Associate Vice
President for Facilities Management (FM) at the University of Maryland.
He is a longtime Maryland "Terp" who completed his undergraduate
and graduate work at the University. Over a 30 year career, he has
been promoted through the ranks to his present position, which he
assumed in 1998.
UM Facilities Management is responsible for 12.7M square feet of building
space and a 27 MW cogeneration plant. Frank leads an organization
of over 800 employees who carry out a comprehensive facilities management
program that includes facilities planning, capital budgeting, real
estate leasing, design, construction, maintenance and facilities operation.
The organization manages a $70M operating budget and
a $65M energy budget annually. In addition, its role as a University
Service Center means that FM's Architecture, Engineering and Construction
Department manages design and construction for all capital projects
at seven University institutions.
